Save the date! Fourteen Modern Masters are coming to Perth
Fourteen of the world's greatest artists will be on display in Perth from June 16 as part of the Art Gallery of Western Australia' stunning exhibition Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters from the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
All four Arts Outcomes are covered by the Art Gallery's Education Program for Picasso to Warhol making it an excellent basis for a semester long project. A visit to this exhibition, incorporating a guided tour and art workshops, will allow your students to be exposed to Art Ideas, learn about Arts Skills and Processes, Arts Responses and Arts in Society.
Cross-curricular Learning is also achievable: Music - Piet Mondrian’s abstract paintings echo aspects of Jazz and Boogie-woogie. Jackson Pollock’s intense interest in the rhythms of Jazz are reflected in his ‘action’ paintings. Drama & English - Use Surrealist painter Giorgio de Chirico’s haunting paintings as stimulus for drama scripts and creative writing.
