Logos and Branding

Recipients of AiR Grants Program funding must acknowledge the support provided by the Federal and State Government by including the Australia Council for the Arts and Government of Western Australia Department of Culture and the Arts (DCA) and Department of Education (DoE) co-badge logo on all printed and online collateral.

Successful grant applicants sign a contract which requires them to display their logos in all marketing and promotional material including; posters, fliers, advertisements, invitations, information, newsletters, education kits, website pages, signage, media releases, programs, catalogues, web sites, film credits, DVD or CD covers, brochures and any other associated documents or marketing/publicity materials related to their AiR project.

If Project Coordinators or artists are in doubt as to where and when the logos should be used, or would like someone from ArtsEdge to check materials before distribution, please contact ArtsEdge at artsedge@dca.wa.gov.au  or call us on +61 8 6552 7300 or 1800 199 090 (toll free for regional WA).

Logos for Grant Recipients

Order of logos = Australia Council for the Arts first; WA Government second.

Never recreate or amend the logo yourself and never get a designer, artist or computer operator to recreate it for you. Do not scan the logo from a hard copy.

It is preferred that the logos be printed in full colour, however where this is not possible it is acceptable to use duotone or mono logos.  Monochrome logos should be used when print quality is questionable.  For further advice please contact ArtsEdge.

Directives on the use of the Australia Council logo can be obtained from their website at www.australiacouncil.gov.au.

Size and Spacing of Government of Western Australia DCA/DoE Co-badge Logo

The DCA/DoE co-badge logo must be reproduced so the width of the State Coat of Arms (measured tail to tail) is no less than 15mm. For general usage, the State Coat of Arms should be 20mm wide.

For more information on using government logos visit  the common badge website.

When the DCA/DoE co-badge logo appears with other logos to reflect participation in collaborative ventures, the logo must be equal in size to the logo of the partnership agencies or organisations, but not smaller than the minimum size stated above.

Using the Logo on another Website

The logo should appear exactly as displayed and should not be resized or amended in any way. The dimensions should be set proportionally so that the logo is not distorted. Where possible you should also link to the DCA and DoE website from the logo.

Incorrect usage

The size, shape, position and weight relationships of the logo and its elements must not be altered.

Do not:

  • add other visual elements and text to the logo
  • obscure or cover the logo by text or technical processes, such as additional screens of colours
  • place the logo in shapes or borders
  • crop, trim or bleed the logo off a page or in a fold - the logo must always appear in its entirety
  • stretch or distort the logo
  • rearrange the elements of the logo
  • tilt the logo
  • use any part of the logo as a graphic element.

Use of the ArtsEdge and Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Grants Program Logos

There are stand-alone ArtsEdge and AiR Grants Program logos that should be included. However it is not mandatory that you use either the ArtsEdge or AiR logos on your documentation/promotional material.

The Australia Council and DCA/DoE co-badge logos must be used on all materials as outlined above.
