ArtsEdge - On the cutting edge of learning

enews #1 2008

It seems a little late to be wishing you HAPPY NEW YEAR as before we know it we'll be in March... so instead we'll say WELCOME BACK TO THE ENEWS!

Since coming back in late January there has been a flurry of activity... most excitingly with a number of schools wanting to talk about options for funding some incredible arts activities!

While Department of Culture and the Arts funding round closes this Friday, remember that you can always apply to Healthway for their HISTA Funding - plus don't forget to check out the contacts and resources section of Artists in Schools: The ArtsEdge Guide for artists and teachers in Western Australia 07-08 for other sources!

With a whole lot on the program... it's time to pull back the curtain and get on with the show...

vale alan corbet 1964 - 2008

It was with great sadness we learned last week of the untimely passing of Alan Corbet, State Coordinator JazzWA.

Alan was an amazing, inspiring and unbelievably generous contributor and absolutely sensational advocate for jazz education, particularly through the wonderful Jazz Now! Jazz Camps held each July and Schools Concert Series.

On behalf of all at ArtsEdge, Department of Culture and the Arts and Department of Education and Training who have had the privilege of meeting, knowing and working with Alan, our thoughts and love go out to all in the Jazz community – and most especially Alan's family.

breaking news...
