Arts in Education Partnerships

Partnerships between the artists and educators provide opportunities for greater exchange of information about current and emerging arts in education trends, policies and activities and can take place  at the local community, state, national or international level.

Engagement between the sectors leads to the creative development of new product and enables increased accessibility to high quality arts in education experiences for WA students K-12, teachers and pre-service teachers.

Partnerships can take many forms. The ArtsEdge program, for example, operates at Federal and State government department level. It  is delivered between the Department of Culture and the Arts and the Department of Education, and the Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Grants Program  is managed in partnership with the Federal Government through the Australia Council for the Arts.

Individual professional artists and arts and cultural organisations partnering with schools, individual educators or each other to deliver arts in education activities produce dynamic collaborations which not only develop the creative learning capacity of students but also raise the status of arts in education in the wider community.
